Today started when I got out of the shower, realised that I hadn't bought more bread to replace that which I ate on the weekend, and so if I wanted breakfast I would have to find where we had stored the muesli when we moved in over a year ago. I had very very good yoghurt and fresh organic blueberries to go with it (how can I remember to get yoghurt and not bread? I get them from the same place!), and I finally unearthed the muesli from the cupboard where we keep one of our food processors.

So I set breakfast going, and went off to get dressed. Whereupon I realised that of my workskirts, one I ripped the lining of last week and hadn't mended yet, one had fallen off the hanger and had been lying on the floor of my wardrobe and was crumpled, and the third needed a shirt to go with it. I had one ironed shirt in the wardrobe so I put that on. Then realised it was missing two buttons. Having played bridge all weekend, I hadn't got around to ironing any others, and my no-iron shirts I had put on the washing line when it was sunny on the weekend. They were still there and it had rained this morning.

So I'm wearing the one dress that doesn't look too bad, it's almost a non-iron one. It's a lovely blue and has a zip all the way down the front and two pockets for tissues to reside.

Don't ask me why the muesli is in the food processor cupboard either. I think it's because the container is slightly too tall to fit upright anywhere closer to where we keep the rest of the food. So it could go there, or it could go on the top of the pantry cupboard where I need a ladder to get to it.

Dresses with pockets are a very useful thing. It's the one thing that tends to frustrate me about the light, diaphanous clothing I favour in summer - there are no blasted pockets!

So, I guess you'll be ironing tonight? *grin*

If I get up when the alarm goes off, I have time. I just forego my quarter-hour lie-in that I sometimes need to build up enough enthusiasm and/or momentum to reach the shower.

I have time. Really. Really, I do.

I managed to iron two shirts with time to spare. Of course one of them I melted just before I finished, so it doesn't really count, but still... I plan my mornings so that I have Running-Around-Like-A-Chicken-With-Its'-Head-Cut-Off-Time.
