Today started when I got out of the shower, realised that I hadn't bought more bread to replace that which I ate on the weekend, and so if I wanted breakfast I would have to find where we had stored the muesli when we moved in over a year ago. I had very very good yoghurt and fresh organic blueberries to go with it (how can I remember to get yoghurt and not bread? I get them from the same place!), and I finally unearthed the muesli from the cupboard where we keep one of our food processors.

So I set breakfast going, and went off to get dressed. Whereupon I realised that of my workskirts, one I ripped the lining of last week and hadn't mended yet, one had fallen off the hanger and had been lying on the floor of my wardrobe and was crumpled, and the third needed a shirt to go with it. I had one ironed shirt in the wardrobe so I put that on. Then realised it was missing two buttons. Having played bridge all weekend, I hadn't got around to ironing any others, and my no-iron shirts I had put on the washing line when it was sunny on the weekend. They were still there and it had rained this morning.

So I'm wearing the one dress that doesn't look too bad, it's almost a non-iron one. It's a lovely blue and has a zip all the way down the front and two pockets for tissues to reside.

In other news, as of last Thursday, I'm off of the drug with all the side-effects. Hopefully I shall stop itching quite so much REAL SOON. I have already noticed the difference first thing in the morning (aaargh! Damn this morning sickness without being pregnant!), but I think the itching will take a little longer to return to normal levels. Appetite however, well, my appetite could never be called normal... I did reach midday today before needing food right now, which is half an hour to an hour better than on the Nexium.

Oh, and I saw a specialist on Friday about the damn reflux (made the appointment more than a month ago, it happened to have been the first available appointment that I could get to, and he was running late...) and am now negotiating an appointment to go have an endoscopy. He recommended I have a general anaesthetic. I recommended that anything without needles that won't wear off too early is fine by me. We agreed that a local was probably what would freak me out the least. I metabolise anaesthetic too quickly for my size, drug dosage based on my size rather than my metabolism just doesn't work properly. This is why I take the same amount of painkillers for the same problem as my SO (who is twice my size) and have them wear off quicker.

But the first available appointment for the endoscopy is on the 13th January, due to Christmas, and if things go well, I shall be playing bridge in Canberra that week... And so we begin...
