Yay. Bridge Youth Workshop on New Year's Day, and the only persons there who were awake (startlingly large turnout, for NYD, table and a half!) were the ones who left their baby with said babys' grandparents for the day. Subsequently went to parental units' house to do lots of sorting of random bits of paper.

They now have a full bin.

And several boxes of papers sorted into financial years. Except for the box marked 'pre-1-JUL-2001'. I'm told that Mum got her tax stuff in for that financial year, so she can go through it and decide if there's anything there that requires the tax office being notified of variances to tax returns. Subsequent years need her to sort into separate piles of stuff to be treated in various ways. It's frightening how fast her papers disappear into 'needs to be filed, but no numbers to data entry' or 'get someone else to do this' categories when I get hold of them. My papers, well... I know where I get my packrattishness from, and it's not from thin air ;)

It's been raining all day, off and on. We needed it - Dad mentioned that some of his tomatoes were baked tomatoes by the time he got to them yesterday, cooked using solar energy.

For once I'm glad we tend to get the SA weather a day or so after you. The Hottest New Year's Eve EVAR turned into a cool change about 10.00 yesterday morning, and then came the rain. And when it came, I crawled out of Sickbay and danced in it. Wheeee!
