Back from Port Elliot this evening - the Bastard and I wandered down there on Monday (yay for a whole four days when neither of us is working!), to be joined by his parents (curses!) who are still there. I have sunburnt shoulders from the one day I couldn't get Bastard up at 8am to go swimming, and a couple of grazes from the sand under the waves which dumped me.

The waves at Horseshoe Bay were just right with the strong breezes for body surfing, which I learnt to do this week. I have also learnt a loathing for seaweed in my bathers, and have decided that I must buy myself a new pair (first new pair of bathers in (I think) eight years!) which shall be a bikini top and shorts, so that next time there shall not be sand padding right where it chafes horribly, and I shall have the ability to rinse seaweed out before I walk back to the shack.

I'm still finding sand in odd places.

Didn't get dumped more than once this morning (*yay!*). There were many dogs on the beach when we got there so early, and very few people in the waves, so I could be silly to my hearts' content. That reminds me, one day, I must learn to swim properly instead of dog paddle. Dog paddle is less tiring than trying to do anything else while trying to keep my mouth out of the salty brine.

Also learnt to duck waves this week, without panicking. Progress. Have never been able to do that before.

Much fun. Very tired, but got lots of sleep in.

The wisdom tooth has progressed to a full side of tooth, but shows little sign of emerging further. I'd forgotten (since my braces days) how disgusting teething gel tastes. I remembered it was yucky, but I didn't remember the full horror of my distaste for undiluted aniseed flavouring. I also didn't remember the headspins as the topical aspirin kicks in and makes my blood pressure drop. Neither did I remember that the stuff actually works well enough that it's all worth it. It's a;; wgrth ut. Weally. Yeah. Woohoo!
