Interesting episode of Iron Chef tonight. Instead of being in Kitchen Stadium, they took over a castle in France. The introduction was all about the Chairman visiting a french chef who was shutting up shop, and I thought this chef was going to be the challenger, but no. Instead we have a French/Japanese battle in France.
For which the chairman was wearing a lovely red cloak with gold fleur-de-lys, lined with gold and white brocade, and trimmed with lots and lots and lots of black feathers. Can you tell I now Want one? Everyone was dressed up - the hosts (owners of the castle) were also very speccy, Mrs host in formfitting shiny floor-length sheath dress and Mr host would not have looked too out of place at Versailles. The footmen were wearing less speccy versions of Mr host's garb, and they made a small Kitchen Stadium in one of the 'cosier' reception halls.
Actually, the hosts' menservants' garb reminded me of what Bastard was wearing to the party at which I met him.
We both had hair back then.
