Well, the end result of the bobcat is that my row of pansies is flat, as are the lemongrass and some of the wallflowers. The majority of the wallflowers were in the back row, so they've survived, but there are large unsightly tire tracks dug into that bed, through the concrete path (on the far side to the pansy line), and in the clothes line lawn.
I'm happy with the amount of work that's been done, but the execution... Not quite so happy. The mandarine got pushed over (good) but we'll have to chop it up ourselves and put it out for collection (bad - especially since hard rubbish collection was two weeks ago, so what can will have to go in the green waste bin over the next month and a half with the collected rose prunings and hibiscus). I should get some straight bits of wood out of it.
There is this brown wasteland out the back, clay lumps and tire tracks everywhere, and cracked concrete where the machinery travelled, but my broad beans are OK. I will have to re-stake the holding lines, because the stakes got pushed over, but the operator managed to remove dirt and concrete (in that spot) to almost exactly the line I wanted.
Now all I have to do is wait for the shed to go in, then the concrete, and then all the big men trampling my clay will be gone and I can dig without fear of compaction by others.
