After a short round robin the results of the South Australian Youth Bridge Team trials are in. Link: http://www.saba.asn.au/youthbut.htm if you want to see just what happened.
So I get to go to Melbourne in early August to play in the Nationals. We have one pair with very good cardplay and decent bidding, one who are erratic to say the least but when its working they're on fire, and my partner and I who'll be the 'steady' pair.
We're only the second state to have picked their team so I don't know if I should book my flight back home for the evening before the Finals (and work that day) or for after... We've got a reasonably good team with a good chance of making it, but I don't know who we'll be playing against, except for ACT who've paired one of the more sensitive players they have with one of our ex-players who is easily angered and tends to say upsetting things instead of being supportive... Not a good combination, but given their selection methods not unheard of. Especially since the best ACT pair (in my opinion) was shafted by the selection and is not in their team...
