Well, we went to celebrate my sister's birthday at a lovely Nepali restaurant. If you're OK with North Indian flavours, and you're in this city, I heartily recommend it. They have a website: www.sagarmatha.com.au Personally I have difficulty with the spices used in the Indian subcontinent, but the restaurant was my sister's choice.

My sister was upset because her SO had forgot her birthday. The forgetfulness of other people is why I put my birthday in my SO's diary, everyone's birthday in my parent's calendar, and ring my parents up during the week before my mother's birthday to leave messages asking when there's anything planned - thereby ensuring that my Dad remembers and keeping Mum happy - instead of assuming that they'll remember. Experience tells me that unless you remind me, my family, and our friends about whatever event or necessary item to get, we forget.

Sometimes I think I'm the only person in the family to remember that...
