Monday morning, and the idiocies come out to play.
When people pay their accounts, they often pay by cheque. Sometimes, these cheques come from accounts in a different name to the place that we sent the stuff to. Sometimes, there is no attached note, either, so it is very difficult to figure out who actually paid their account.
Sometimes they're paying the wrong amount. Sometimes, it is something that they have already paid.
Today, I received all of the above. I'm also rather sore from applying a mattock to my clay yesterday. I hope to plant a lemon tree there, so I dug a hole that was way too big, and inserted much gypsum, cow manure, and other organics. In four or six weeks, I'll plant my citrus. Some time this week, I must also dig up the bed in which I plan to plant tomatoes, or I shall be too late to plant them this year.
My basil seeds have germinated (if I haven't already told you), they started to appear 5 days after sowing in the little trays, and they should be ready to go out in the garden in a few weeks time. I think I planted waay too many though - I think quite a few people will be getting a pot of basil for Christmas this year. If I get around to potting them, and don't kill them through neglect. Although the last basil plant to die last year did so some time in July, when it got completely overgrown by weeds, so this stock is quite hardy. I got the seeds originally from my SO's Dad, who got them from someone else, and this year I sowed seeds that I collected from the plants that I grew last year from that seed.
I think I shall make pesto some time in January or February.
