So the computer guy has been and gone and I now have more than double the amount of RAM I had before! He has also finished fixing the computer with all the datafiles that I work off of (a process which took most of the day) so now I must get back to work :(

Don't be fooled... it's my experience that computer guys leave behind more & better problems than they arrive to solve... Save your work - constantly...

We've found that saving constantly also helps with the intermittant fault that trips the surge arresters and/or safety switch. When the lights go out, the work is saved.

The major problem was that I was trying to work with MYOB on a computer with a total of 120 Mb of RAM. 30-40 Mb (at least) of that goes towards running Win98. MYOB gobbles the rest and then burps along as it tries to look at everything I could possibly want at the same time...
