For those who missed it the first (and subsequent) time, I'm in Melbourne from 31 July - 9 August  for bridge. At the moment, it looks like I have these times free:
Sat 31 July: taken
Mon 02 Aug - Thu 04 Aug: dinner
Fri 06 Aug: depends on whether we get into the finals or not
Sat 07 Aug: depends on whether we get into the finals or not, and I need to check whether I can bring anyone to the Victory Dinner that night. But I should have a couple of hours free in the afternoon no matter what if anyone would like to go for coffee?
Sun 08 Aug: Free, free as a bird.
Mon 09 Aug: daytime, at this stage.

And possibly sessions off at other times, depending on who we're playing.

So, if anyone (in Melbourne at that time) would like to catch up, I definitely am available at the times mentioned above.

You should be introduced to at least one Den of Iniquity while you're here - care to meet up Monday, Tuesday or Thursday around 5:30-6 for hot chocolate and a chat?

Also, be so kind as to throw me your dietary requirements/preferences, and I'll see about organising dinner, probably for the Sunday night if that sounds good.

On another note, are you at all interested in going dancing while you're in town?

Lets see if it works this time...

You should be introduced to at least one Den of Iniquity while you're here - care to meet up Monday, Tuesday or Thursday around 5:30-6 for hot chocolate and a chat?

Yes, please! According to my schedule, the afternoon sessions start at 2:45, so we should be finished by then, unless they decide to have more than 24 boards per match (matches usually take a maximum of 7 minutes per board + 10-15 minutes). We have very fast players so I sincerely doubt that it'll take the full three hours.

Also, be so kind as to throw me your dietary requirements/preferences, and I'll see about organising dinner, probably for the Sunday night if that sounds good.

I like food. That's my preference. Most people tend to be amazed and astounded at the amount that I eat, then they start making probing comments designed to find out if I have an eating disorder...

No, seriously, I'm lactose intolerant but not badly so, I tend to dislike Indian food, I do tend to eat more than is usual for someone of my size, and I am squeemish about eating things' brains and other offal. This includes mussels, snails, anything where the entire animal is being eaten, and therefore the brains and guts as well. Which is a pity, because before I knew what they contained I used to love mussels and snails.

But which Sunday?

On another note, are you at all interested in going dancing while you're in town?

Yes yes yes yes! I rarely get to go dancing because I refuse to go by myself (safety issues) and few people I spend much time with have the energy and the inclination. So I'm way out of condition, and keep having to stop for a rest every few hours...

Hot chocolate will happen, then - where in Melbourne (it's a big, sprawly city!) is your competition being held?  Where, for that matter, are you staying?  And will you be LJ-accessible while you're in town?  I'l sling you my mobile and other such useful contact details if you drop me an e-mail, since I can't find an address for you...

I'm glad to see that you're relatively easy to please in terms of diet - it's always good to know that you're not going to kill someone, or offend them hideously by taking them somewhere with, for example, no vegetarian options or native animals on the menu.  Will start plotting, and be in touch.  And I was talking about the Sunday you haven't already marked off as taken, since it would be...counterproductive...to claim you for the other. *grin*

And dancing is always good.  Saturday night, post-victory dinner, seems more sensible to me than dragging you out Thursday or Friday, when you'll be playing the next day.  Sound good?

*does the dance of pain*

The competition is at the the Dallas Brooks Convention Centre, on Albert Street, East Melbourne. I'm still confirming where I'm staying - due to several stuff-ups by multiple people, I'm no longer staying in the team apartment, nor is the person who organised it. I had to call in emergency housing options, and I can't find the address of the person whose option I called in, so I'll have to ask him for it again.

An email should be winging your way shortly... And I just changed my options to display my email address too. I'll be out of LJ reach during my stay.

And post-victory dinner dancing sounds like fun. I'll need to find out what time I can run away to have fun...
