We has rain! Yay!
Am at work; The crickets in the walls are making funny noises. It sounds as if there's a bunch of them having A Really Good Time, or a burping contest, or they've got half a dozen chronic hiccup-ers (or however you spell that) on the cricket equivalent of Good Morning Australia.
Vengeful Me is having a really good time with the concept of the rain (a day later than forecast) washing all the poison off of the back lawn that Bastard's parents poisoned under the impression that they were being helpful. I did mention that I wanted to replace that lawn with something else, in the vague future, when we had rain so that I could water it, so I was going to smother the grass with plastic or carpet or whatever, and Bastard's Mum said I should use poison, and I said no, and apparently this means yes. So poisoning happened when I was at work on Tuesday. And I was not happy, because that meant I couldn't go out my back door and get herbs from the patch right next to said grass, because I don't know which poison they used, nor the application method, nor whether I need to be worried about drift. Not to mention I tend to sit with my legs on that patch when I'm doing stuff that requires sitting down outside, so I couldn't do that yesterday (I am so not putting my seedlings outside for a while to harden off on that grass either)
