Last weekend at a concert I discovered yet another pet peeve. PEOPLE WHO SMOKE WHILE DANCING ON DANCE FLOORS. Particularly people who do so while dancing with hands waving in all directions so that it is not safe to stand near them due to the very real possibility of going up in flames. Particularly people who move so much when dancing that even though they started as far away from me as they could get and still be on the dance floor, the person in question ended by accidentally dropping ash in my face.
I don't care if people smoke, particularly in a smoking-friendly venue. But I prefer not to be endangered by other people's addictions. Besides, I was wearing a very frilly, frothy, silly dangly bits shirt that was very very flammable, and I was too stubborn to move away from the stage and closer to the tables where the sedentary smokers of various substances were sitting.
Apart from that I had a good time. I worked from 6:30AM to 3PM (cutting my finger horribly on a protruding screw while I was at it), did shopping, got home at some time between 4 or 5, frocked up, then rocked up at the venue early to gossip and down a couple before dancing from about 8:30 to 11. Then I sat down.
