This long weekend had a Bastards' extended family gathering thingy in it. By extended family, I mean descendants of his (great?) grandmother and her eight siblings. Of the more than 100 persons who could have turned up (living descendants, partners of descendants, and the two still-living siblings) just over 80 came. It was held in a town an hour and three quarters' drive from our house, the next town over from the one near which the siblings grew up.
We arrived around 11ish. I had had enough of humans by 1pm. The party was booked to be kicked out at 3pm. There were still people drinking around the cleaning-up crew when we left somewhere between 5pm and 6pm.
It was quite an interesting gathering, though. People making speeches and paying each other out from the microphone. 60-70 year olds flipping each other the bird when insulted. Just... Too many people to cope with.
