OK. So, a cubic metre of compost is about 700kg. Thus, 1 tonne (1000kg) is about 1.4 cubic metres (10/7 cubic metres). Now, my almost scale diagram is at home, but IIRC, I had just under 25m sq. of garden bed, with around 50m edging. So, 1 tonne of compost would cover that space to a depth of between 5 and 6 cm. I have three bags of gypsum left, and about the same of manure. I think two cubic metres (or tonnes) of 'garden soil' should be plenty.

The people I'm leaning towards using are these guys, they're one of the furthest away, but for some reason their quote on delivery costs was one of the cheapest, and they do good quality chemical free stuff. Also, their pea straw is damn cheap. The other places I asked to send me pricelists were, on average, $2 per bale +GST more expensive. I should get out of this for around $100, including pea straw. Proper paths can wait until next year.
