This morning I saw my first pulling-over of a driver by police in peak hour traffic.

The Mr Stupidhead probably did something more than change lanes in front of a car displaying L plates without indicating, but that's the point at which I saw him. He accelerated up on my right hand side and zoomed into the space in front of me (peak hour, so I'm not accelerating any more than I have to; I stay in the same lane from the moment I pull onto Anzac Highway (into the middle lane - and my thanks go to the gentleman who stopped in the left lane with enough space so that I could pull out) until the point where I need to be in the right lane to turn onto South Tce).

Suddenly there was a Mr Police on my right, flashing his lights. The Mr Police passenger appeared to be looking dubiously at me, as if he wasn't sure if I knew to let him in, but I was idling up to the guy in front so I stopped and let the Mr Police in.

A discussion composed entirely of gestures ensued, and eventually both Mr Police Car and Mr Stupidhead found spaces in the left lane so that they could change lanes and then get into a legal stopping place.
