New drugs, different side effects. Pariet appears not to screw with my appetite (but after the last two drugs, and the last month, who could tell?), there is a distinct lack of dry mouth (I get to drool in my sleep again. Yay.), but there is a possibility that these lesions are not due to hormones. There is also the possibility that the itchies and dizzies and headaches may never clear up on this drug.

There's also the not-uncommon possibility that I'll find an entirely new and unique side effect to suffer from. Go me.

On the other hand, I get to whine about it, which makes me feel much better.

Gah, you're not having a good year so far :-(

We have rain! Did SA send it to us? If so, thankee - saves me having to do the garden today, heh. Our sweetcorn and pumpkins and dwarf zucchinis and Rogue Tomatoes are going mad now, and the purple cauliflower seedlings are coming on apace. Must look into growing broccoli though...

Yes the rain was yesterday. Inside and outside. I need to remember to replace that seal on the cistern some time...

Ah well, the dry mouth has found a new home over here - reboxitine's giving me a nice case of it, along with insane fluctuations in temperature sense and a share in the dizziness/headache stock (too bad there's enough to go around, or we could handball it back & forth across the border).

Still, I hope our respective meds do what they're supposed to...

I rather liked the dry mouth. Going back to needing to blot every so often (I should time it...) was rather disconcerting. It's also harder to remember to not dehydrate.

I certainly hope the drugs do what they're supposed to... Without the known side-effects, please. Is this kind of what they're trying to do? (Right down the bottom)

Presumably. My doctor has been saying for the year or two that he's achieved reasonable results treating CFS with reboxitine, and that it was about the only possible solution he had left. So while all I've been able to find online were references to the drug being used off-label as a fibromyalgia treatment, I decided I was finally prepared to give it a go and see if it does anything.

As for side-effects, I figure I can live with a few if I can actually go back to living at a level I like...

*nods vigorously* The question is always "Are the results worth it?"

I guess - though at this point I'm more interested in the question "Are there results (other than the side-effects, of course)?" - the other one comes later, after all.

I meant results as in everything that happens (and doesn't happen). If the results are inconclusive or show a lack of improvement, then the negative results (side effects) are not offset against good results, and the whole drug is not worth taking.

I always liked a comment a friend made once. "There are no side-effects in ecology. There are only effects."
