Dream last night. Vampires again. Mostly in the background, except for the hunting, and the Dog Statuette That Would Not Smash (I'm pretty sure it was a pug, with an attached humanoid, and it was very definitely annoying my character, who stopped in her exploration of the mansion wherein the vampires resided to endeavour to destroy it).

I miss being able to dream up nice horror scenarios. Especially now that Trail of Cthulhu is out. I might break my ban on running Cthulhu (after all, it's not Call of Cthulhu). [1]
Then again, who am I fooling. I'd never run it anyway.
<sigh>
[1] This ban exists purely as a result of feelings of inadequacy, from having been (un)lucky enough to known three superlative Call of Cthulhu keepers.

Not so surprising. They are only vampires after all, and vampires have lost most of their mystique in recent years. Even zombies and demons are relatively ho-hum and cthulhoid minions are just simply squamous (if you ignore the sanity-degrading effects of poly-dimensional creatures).
What you need for true horror is probably something like the denizens of Kult. That's a game that still makes me uncomfortable even reading some of the scenarios in broad daylight.
And promises, promises...

Got it. Bloodrayne rather than Buffy.
