The sensation of scratching an itch on numb skin is slightly freakier than drinking from a cup with one half of your lips numb. I'd drink out of the non-numb side except then I spill it. The itch is a known signal that it's all wearing off fast, though. I expect to be able to have a cup of tea safely in half an hour or less.

I feel for you (or not as the case may be) I HATE dentist visits. The only time I go is when I am in so much pain, there is no other choice. Inevitably, that usually entails some sort of drilling, poking, pulling and/or grinding, and along with that comes the numbness. I absolutely hate that feeling. I will schedule a whole day off of work if I need to go, because I feel so sad and sorry for myself for the rest of the day!
