Why do I fall down for finger gashes and not other types of bleeding injuries?

Finger wounds tend to bleed worse, & look worse, than other cuts'n'gashes. It's some kind of combination of nerve endings & the fact that your hands are the most useful tool you have, so the brain gets worried when they get damaged.

As a guitar player, I can sympathise & empathise. Let's compare scars one day...
